You've most likely seen the colorful peace poles that we sell. Now you can create your own long-lasting and unique piece of garden art! We'll paint a 4-foot PVC garden pole with outdoor paints to place anywhere in your garden beds. Please call 630.355.4000 to register.

From Garden to Table: Plant an Herb Basket, Recipes & Tips
Saturday in Aurora, Sunday in Naperville

Short sessions at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm. Discover the pleasure of cooking with food you have grown yourself. We will share some of our favorite recipes and growing tips from our veteran staff. This weekend will focus on fall salads, beets and herbs for stews and soups. Plant a basket of herbs perfect for fall and winter harvest (cost of materials.)

Fall Planting Celebration Weekend
Saturday in Naperville, Sunday in Aurora

We've created a fall celebration especially for adults! Enjoy refreshments, our special guest, Mike Nowak, informative talks, landscape advice, and a silent auction. We can make fall planting FUN!
Silent Auction Rules: Bid as many times as you want on a variety of plants and garden accents at both locations, both days. Bids are secret and will be reviewed at 3:30 and winners will be contacted at 4pm on Sunday (9/28).
Just Added! We're excited to welcome Mike Nowak, author, host of 'The Mike Nowak Show' on WCPT 820AM and and award-winning Chicagoland Gardening Magazine columnist. His first book, "Attack of the Killer Asparagus", takes a humorous look at the trials and seductions of gardening…and the paranoid fantasies of gardeners. Talk and book signing Saturday, Sept. 27 at The Growing Place, Naperville.

Humor in the Garden: "I'm Not Really a Garden Expert, I Just Play One on the Radio" Mike Nowak will recap the successes and failures (mostly his own) of this growing season while preparing you for the next one by planting seeds of laughter. It's a Pumpkin Decorating Party!
Both Locations, All Day

Kids and adults can personalize a pumpkin! Our creative staff will help you use all sorts of pumpkins to create beautiful and fun decorations for fall. Kids can decorate a pumpkin or make a pumpkin totem. And for those who would like a more sophisticated look, choose from elegant pumpkin painting or build a pumpkin centerpiece with succulents.
