Join us for a discussion about incorporating native plants into existing beds. We'll talk about which natives politely intermingle and offer flowers, lower maintenance and attract pollinators.

Find out what plants prefer the shade and offer flowers, color and texture. We'll discuss annuals, perennials, combinations, tips and techniques for success.

Quick Tips: Planting for Success

Find out how to plant your plants correctly to achieve gardening success! Visit interactive displays throughout the day. At noon, 1:00pm, 2:00pm and 3:00pm, our horticulturists will spend 10 minutes sharing quick tips on planting techniques and answering questions.

From Garden to Table: Our Favorite Recipes & Tips
12-3pm, Saturday in Aurora, Sunday in Naperville

Discover the pleasure of cooking with food you've grown yourself. We will share some of our favorite recipes and growing tips from our veteran staff. This weekend, we'll focus on peppers, potatoes and herbs that make them great.

Paint an Herb Pot for Mom

Make a great gift for mom! Decorate a pretty pot and fill it with herbs as a thoughtful gift.

Quick Tips: Combining Annuals and Perennials

Learn how to combine annuals and perennials in garden beds for showstopping color Visit interactive displays throughout the day. At noon, 1:00pm, 2:00pm and 3:00pm, our horticulturists will spend 10 minutes sharing quick tips on how to create long-lasting color in your garden beds. Bring your questions!

Landscaping 101: Rain Gardens
10am, Aurora

Find out how to build a rain garden in sun or shade that really works! Learn about what elements are needed, plants that will thrive and the benefits of keeping water on your property.

May 31st & June 1st:

For The Birds Weekend
Find out how to attract beautiful birds to your yard this weekend. Learn about the plants they need and experience bird-related sales and specials.

12-4pmQuick Tips: Top Plants for Birds - Visit three interactive stations for quick 10 minute presentations on plants to attract hummingbirds, what to plant for birds that prefer insects and seeds, and plant suggestions that provide shelter and berries. Displays will be available all day with handouts and combination ideas. Bring your questions!

5:00pm - Sunday in Naperville
Bird Walk - Bring your binoculars and identification guides for a leisurely stroll around our Aurora property. We'll look for our common bird species and see if we can find some of our rarer visitors.

Magical Mini-Garden Festival!
Saturday in Naperville, Sunday in Aurora

Celebrate the magical world of miniature gardening with two days of fairy fun, fairy teas and fairy tales. Meet a 'real live' fairy and make your own miniature garden. Dress in your fairy best! Make your own fairy wings and march in our inaugural Fairy Parade. Each day and each location will treat you to its own special activities.

Naperville

Join us for the annual Gardener's Art Festival featuring more than 40 garden artists, live music, talks and refreshments. The Nature Artists Guild of The Morton Arboretum will be painting and drawing in our gardens.
