Our expert sales associates have decades of horticulture experience and are eager to help you be successful in the garden. We can help you with:
- Choosing the right plant for the right place
- Plant identification, health care and disease questions
- Viewing our display gardens that showcase our favorite plants and items from our gift shop
- Garden techniques including watering, dividing, planting and pruning
Whether it is choosing colorful annuals for your pots, discovering a unique piece of garden art, designing a new perennial bed, or selecting the perfect tree or shrub, we can help. Stop by either location any time. Please print pictures or bring in samples so we may better assist you. Please bring plant, pest and disease samples in a sealed bags or containers.
Design, Delivery and Installation Services
Design Philosophy
Our design professionals are deeply rooted in The Growing Place tradition of planting the right plant in the right place to reduce maintenance and contribute to an overall successful landscape. We use a diverse selection of plants to satisfy every garden style and cultural need. The Growing Place designs new, renovates old, or works within existing landscapes to create a balanced whole.
In-Store Landscape Coaching
Throughout the year, our landscape designers will be available for one-on-one advice at either location. Landscape Coaching appointments are available for $50 for a one-hour session. A detailed questionnaire and instructions for your appointment are available here. This is perfect if you're looking for design advice for small, simple areas that you will be installing yourself.You will receive:
- Expert assessment of your area
- Plant recommendations for your site conditions based on your personal style and needs
- A rough sketch and/or notes of plant placement and spacing
- A coupon towards a one-time plant purchase
In-Home Landscape Coaching
A home visit is often the best way to assess your landscaping situation and gardening challenges. One of our landscape designers will walk the area with you and discuss your goals. Fees are $95 for the first hour and $55 per hour thereafter. You will receive:
- Personalized notes on:
- How to work with your problem areas
- Design solutions and plant recommendations
- Plant health care, identification, and maintenance instructions
- Gardening techniques, tips and solutions
- A rough sketch of the area, if needed
- Handouts on topics discussed and links to resources
Landscape Drawings and Installation Services
From smaller areas, existing landscape renovations or updates to entire properties, The Growing Place's landscape design and installation services partner with you to translate your vision into reality. We work with you from start through completion. Design fees start at $200 for one area.
- Personal consultation to discuss the scope of your project, your goals and your personal style
- Documenting, measuring and photographing the site.
- Detailed scaled CAD drawings or a photo essay, with plant pictures and care information
- Project presentation at The Growing Place including touring the plants suggested
- Complete installation estimate for the project
Planting and Removal Services
Planting is available for our trees and shrubs. We also do removals of shrubs and some smaller trees. Please bring in a photo, measurement, and sample of the shrub to be removed to receive an estimate.
Delivery Services
We can deliver anything we sell within our delivery area. Fees are based on zip code.
Container Design and Planting Services
Enjoy custom-designed containers filled with colorful plants and accents.
- Custom designs
- Experienced designers from The Growing Place will come out and assess your site and customize your plantings to your personal style.
- Bring in your personal containers or select from our extensive line of pottery. Work with a designer to reflect your style.
- Pre-planted designs - You may also browse lush pre-planted containers and seasonal designs available at both locations.

Seasonal Decorations Services
Bring a touch of nature to your holidays with designer-created fall and holiday wreaths, swags, containers and arrangements. Distinctive designs are available pre-made, custom ordered or we'll come to your home or business to create customized holiday planters.
